This comforting Slow Cooker Mozzarella-Stuffed Meatballs And Sauce offers a delectable blend of juicy meatballs filled with melty mozzarella, simmered in a rich and flavorful sauce, making it an ideal choice for cozy family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Take a handful of the mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a tablespoon of mozzarella cheese in the center, then fold over the meat to encase the cheese completely, forming a ball.
  3. Set the prepared meatballs aside on a platter while you prepare the slow cooker.
  4. Pour half of the marinara sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker, making a layer to prevent sticking.
  5. Carefully place the meatballs into the slow cooker, arranging them in a single layer.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are well covered.
  7. Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 6 to 8 hours, or high for 3 to 4 hours.
  8. Once cooked, carefully remove the meatballs with a slotted spoon to a serving platter.
  9. Serve the meatballs with a generous ladle of marinara sauce and sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired.
