Flavorful Mozzarella Pasta with Smoked Sausage

Richly seasoned smoked sausage complements the creamy mozzarella in this delectable pasta dish, making it a delightful centerpiece for gatherings or a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese cubed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the smoked sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Add the drained rigatoni and cubed mozzarella to the skillet.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
